Another call to parents who want to give their kids the tools to be able to ride their bikes to school.

The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition is offering another rounds of “Street Skills for Bike Riders” classes on Saturday.

The adult class is from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. but the class for those ages 12 through 15 is from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their helmets.

The class is free but participants are asked to RSVP to secure a place.

Students will learn:

How to become an empowered bike rider

Communicate clearly with other road users

Handle every on-road situation with skill

Increase your visibility

Have more fun on the bike

Participants need not bring a bike, this is a presentation class led by a League of American Bicyclists certified instructor. It is offered by the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and sponsored by the city of Sonoma.

The class will be held in the community meeting room, 177 First Street West in Sonoma. Call 933-2204 or email watkins@sonomacity.org for reservations. Space is limited.
