Jose A. Benitez of Culver City has been named the new principal at Comstock Middle School.

Benitez has been a teacher, program coordinator, dean of discipline and assistant principal at the middle and elementary school level, according to Santa Rosa City Schools.

Benitez replaces Bob Dahlstet who is retiring at the end of the school year.

The district has also named Kris Cosca as the new principal of Burbank Elementary School. Cosca was former director of elementary education for the district.

Cosca replaces Patty Turner who is now the principal at Cook Middle School.

Cal Morgan has been hired as vice principal of the district’s alternative opportunity programs. Morgan is currently the principal of a similar program with Lakeport Unified School District.

He has worked both as an elementary and secondary teacher, as well as a juvenile correction officer.
