As one Santa Rosa elementary school moves to rescind its common dress policy, another campus will institute the plan.

Lincoln Elementary officials earned approval from the Santa Rosa School Board Wednesday night to nix its 11-year-old common dress policy. The move earned approval from parents. During a check in February, school officials noted that only 5 percent of students (18 kids) were actually wearing the adopted student dress.

At Monroe Elementary, school officials won approval from the school board for instituting common student dress starting in the fall.

Eighty percent of Monroe parents voted on the issue with 91 percent supporting it, according to the district.
