Two Rock Elementary School in western Petaluma was just named a 2010 National Blue Ribbon School.

Officials there credited a very active parent group with raising funds during the year to support an active, two-days a week physical education program for all students, as well as augmented library and music programs.
One of the group’s big fundraisers is coming up. It’s a 5k run on the grounds of the U.S. Coast Guard training center next to the campus on Spring Hill Road.
The event is Oct. 9. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the run begins at 8:30 a.m. For more information go to http://www.trusd.org/specialevents.html
