The students of Grace High School, a small necessary campus on the grounds of Piner High, chipped in and donated $50 to the victims of the San Bruno blast and fire.

Resource assistant Sandra Angel said the emphasis at Grace is on second chances so the effort fit.

“These are kids that were given a second chance because they were failing so far as their credits were concerned,” she said. “We thought because the people down in San Bruno, they need a second chance too. A lot of families lost everything.”

“We all contributed,” she said.

Angel sent the funds to a local Red Cross operation in San Bruno this weekend.
