Patrick Bassett, president of  the National Association of Independent Schools will give a talk “How Great Schools Work: Partnering with Parents” on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

According to organizers, the event will cover questions to ask when choosing a school, what children need from adults, what schools need from parents and what parents need from schools.

In addition to his current post, Bassett has been a Kellogg National Leadership Fellow and the recipient of the Educational Leadership Award by the Klingenstein Center of Teachers College at Columbia University.

The event is free and open to the public. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Jackson Theater at Sonoma Country Day School, 4400 Day School Place in Santa Rosa. For more information, call 284-3200.
