William Robertson is the new dean of Empire College School of Law. Robertson succeeds Pat Broderick who was elected as California Superior Court Judge in November. Broderick had been dean since 1997.

Robertson has been a professor at Empire since 2003, teaching the Moot Court class and coaching the school’s Moot Court teams.

Robertson has over 30 years as a practicing attorney, according to the school. For the past 15 years, he has been an independent mediator and arbitrator.

Robertson has been an adjunct professor/lecturer for Sonoma State University and has taught social studies and served as a guidance counselor at St. Vincent Ferrer High School in Vallejo and the Napa County Office of Education. He earned his law degree from McGeorge School of Law and his bachelor of arts degree and teaching credential from U.C. Davis.

“I believe that Mr. Robertson’s vision for the Law School will elevate it to its next level of professionalism and recognition. He brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to his position,” college president Roy Hurd, said in a statement.
