Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County’s Ofelia Ochoa-Morris has been named “Administrator of the Year,” of the California Head Start Association. Ochoa-Morris will be honored at the annual conference in San Francisco next month.

Ochoa-Morris has worked for CAP for more than 30 years, with more than two decades as Head Start Director. She began her career as a home visitor with the then-named Sonoma County People for Economic Opportunity.

She will be honored for her exemplary work in leading and managing the local Head Start program and for advocating on behalf of low-income children and their families.

Head Start/Early Start centers are national child and family development programs for low-income children through five years old and their families. Areas covered include social, health, dental, nutrition, mental health, special education. Parents are invited to participate in the program.
