UPDATE: In response to the comment from reader Gerry below, ExtraCredit has made significant outreach efforts to encourage districts to send student of the month information. I’ll include it as I can. As yet, only Santa Rosa City Schools has taken up the offer so typically three students from Sonoma County’s largest school district are highlighted here each month. The offer still stands for other districts to participate.

Haley Ramos is Santa Rosa City Schools elementary student of the month for March.

The Steele Lane sixth grader is lauded as a “ray of sunshine” by her teachers and a student who loves to read and learn.

Her computer assignments are well organized and creative and she brings a strong work ethic and focus to her projects, according to her teachers.

She has scored proficient or advanced on Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program every year since second grade.

Ramos is also known for her work as the school’s photographer and videographer. She can be seen at various school events and doings, snapping pictures and taking video. Ramos is also learning to edit and has a hand in the school’s end of year video presentation.
