Casa Grande High School boosters are hosting a benefit at Buckeye Ranch May 7 to raise funds and awareness for the burgeoning Outdoor Learning Environment on the Petaluma campus.

“Be the Buzz” will feature food and entertainment from Casa Grande students. Guest speakers will include Sue Conley of Cowgirl Creamery, chef and cooking instructor Kay Baumhefner, winemaker Don Baumhefner, Trathen Heckman of Daily Acts, Tara Smith of Tara Firma Farm and Tina Hittenberger of Cinnabar Theatre, according to organizers.

OLE will eventually feature a kitchen, a vegetable garden and fruit orchard, seating for classes and special events in an unused portion in the center of the campus, organizers said. Groundbreaking is scheduled for this summer.

The event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 7 at Buckeye Ranch, 2425 Adobe Road in Petaluma. Tickets are $45 with proceeds supporting OLE.

Tickets and information are available at www.casagrandeole.com or in the front office of the high school, 333 Casa Grande Road.
