Prestwood School in Sonoma finished off the school year with not one walk and roll to school day but three.

Inspired by the participation in the International Walk and Roll to School Day back in October that had students and staff from schools across Sonoma County getting to school in ways other than in solo vehicle trips, the elementary school hosted two more.

The second was in April and the third was in May.

More than 300 – or 70 percent of all students – walked, rolled or biked to school on May 13, according to organizers which included parent volunteers and the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition.

At the May event, first grader Jaqueline Yanez won a Trek bike from the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and The Trek Bicycle Store in Santa Rosa.
