Thinking of sending your kids off to school on a bike this year? A good warm up might be had via a group ride Saturday.

“Ride About Town” will begin from Santa Rosa City Hall at 9 a.m. sharp Saturday. A riders-only continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m.

The route is 10 miles and the pace is “inclusive,” according to organizers. The purpose is to show off bike paths, bike lanes and roads. There will be stops for discussion.

The lineup of fellow riders is expected to include Supervisors Mike McGuire, Shirlee Zane and  Efren Carrillo, Windsor Vice Mayor Debra Fudge,  Cotati Mayor Janet Orchard, Santa Rosa City Council members Susan Gorin and Gary Wysocky, as well as others.

The ride concludes at City Hall where an all day Bike Expo will be held with bike vendors, live music and food and beer. The free event runs until 4 p.m.
