Laguna School, a one room schoolhouse on Chileno Valley Road, was honored this month by the Native Sons of the Golden West Past Presidents Assembly #9 with a plaque celebrating the structure as a historic landmark.
The Aug. 7 celebration included past students and teachers and culminated in the unveiling of a plaque. The school celebrated its centennial in 2006.
The one room school house has served students in western Marin and Sonoma counties. It is located at 2657 Chileno Valley Road.
