Cardinal Newman High School’s Kevin Bailey is at it again.

The math wiz who earned headlines for his number-crunching ability last year, was chosen from more than 14,000 seventh and eighth graders who scored the highest on either the SAT or ACT. Bailey was honored for his scores on the math portion of the ACT, according to his mother, Julie Husar-Bailey of Santa Rosa.

Bailey, now a freshman at Newman, qualified for the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth’s residential summer programs, online classes, and family academic programs.About 700 middle school students from around the world were invited to attend the ceremony at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland.

Bailey earned first place in the state and was the top scorer in the nation among fifth graders on the math portion of the annual Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth exam administered in the spring of 2009. To read about that showing, click here:  http://bit.ly/ufKtin
