Claire Pavelka is Santa Rosa City Schools is middle school student of the month for December.
Officials at Slater Middle School where Pavelka is an eighth grader said once scene in a recent basketball game sums up their star student athlete: “During one game, Claire was playing tough defense and hit the floor hard. The game stopped. She got up slowly, while all were watching with concern, jogged back down the court with tears in her eyes but huge grin on her face. That symbolizes Claire Pavelka.”
Pavelka is a competitive softball player and a member of Slater’s Gold Star Students with a straight-A grade point average and a participant in the campus’s Safe School Ambassador program.
