UPDATE: The photos are in. Check them out.
Austin Creek Elementary School teacher Margaret Horn informs me that the student council students on that Rincon Valley campus pulled in more than 2,700 pounds of canned food just before the winter break. The food, in addition to collected diapers, wipe and baby supplies, were given to The Salvation Army.
Melissa Harryman’s fourth grade class collected the most food, with 326 items brought in. Student Brennan Stammer was the top contributor with 123 items, Horn said.
Harryman’s class received a pizza party and Stammer received a bike which he will donate to charity, Horn said.
Some photos of the drive are coming soon. Please keep checking back.
