Public Schools Week is back.
After a hiatus of two decades, a long list of Sonoma County school districts have resurrected the weeklong showcase of student work, education highlights and performances.
A kickoff reception is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday. The entire event will run from May 4-11 at Coddingtown Mall.
On Friday, the Willowside Middle School Jazz Band will perform and guest speakers include Sonoma County Supervisor Mike McGuire, Sonoma County Educators Council President Jeff Reed, Mark West Superintendent Ron Calloway and Linda Blanchard, area director for the California School Employees Association. Wine and cheese will be served and a $5 donation is recommended.
