UPDATE: I spoke with Santa Rosa Teachers Assocation president Andy Brennan about the election and he said it’s his guess that the race will draw no other takers and that the four who have filed will be the four elected.

“As a social studies teacher, I think elections are good because it forces us to take stands on issues on where we want to go,” he said. “At the same time, it also means we are not going to be distracted by the board campaign and we can concentrate on the really important issue of getting (Gov. Jerry Brown’s) tax initiative passed.”

As of this moment, there are less than 27 hours left for contenders to file papers at the county elections office.

Want to run for Santa Rosa School Board? You have until Wednesday to enter the race after the deadline was extended from Friday to this Wednesday at 5 p.m. because incumbent Tad Wakefield is not seeking re-election:

As of now, there are four contenders for four seats. But you could change all of that.
