International Walk and Roll to School Day is approaching. The big day for students (and their parents) to give riding or walking to school a try is Wednesday, Oct. 3.
If you or folks on your campus are marking the event, please email any photos to Kerry.benefield@pressdemocrat.com. Please send photos as jpg attachments and size each photo no larger than 1mb per shot. I’ll post as many as I can.
Thanks and have fun.

Hi Kerry,
Forestville School and Forestville Academy (Forestville Union School District) will be walking and rolling again this year; but with a special guest – Efren Carrillo! We have participated every year of this event and really look forward to it. Most of our students, lots of parents, and our staff join in. Fun, healthy, and this year with Efren will make for a great walk!
Thank you.

Investigative Reporting?
How about someone at the PD (Kerry?) doing some investigative reporting (you know, real work) about this whole issue. Point number one: Where does the money come from to run this program? Point number two: Is there any evidence (empirical, not anecdotal) that there is any benefit whatsoever derived from the money that is spent? For the record, I work at a local public school and I can tell you for a fact that this program is a complete waste of taxpayer money and an absolute joke. We’re broke, have to beg parents for Kleenex and other supplies that are in abundance at the district office, but someone somewhere gets paid and uses taxpayer funds to run this program.
