Analy High School received a $10,000 grant from PG&E this week to build a small house on campus that will rely on renewable power and be completely off the grid, according to PG&E spokeswoman Brittany McKannay.

The awards, part of the company’s Bright Ideas program, are doled out to support green schools and educate students about renewable energy.

The application deadline for the next round of grants is Nov. 30. For more information, go to www.pge.com/solarschools

Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000.
