Some familiar faces appear in the March 2012 edition of California Educator, the magazine of the California Teachers Association.
San Miguel Elementary School teacher Lisl Christie is featured in a story about transitional kindergarten (Mark West School District has run a supplemental program for Young Fives for years). Oddly, the photos that accompany the story appear old, as many of the children in the California Educator piece also appear in a Press Democrat article about transitional kindergarten that ran in October, 2011.

Thanks for this post! The reason that the California Educator photos appear old is that they were taken in February 2012, just a few months after the Press Democrat article. The California Educator article ran in March 2012. I am grateful to both publications for their articles, as they pointed many teachers from other districts to us for guidance in creating their own transitional kindergarten programs.
