West Sonoma County Union High School District trustee Susan Devoto resigned from her post Jan. 16 effective immediately. She cited health concerns as her reason for stepping down.

Devoto was first elected in November 2006.

The district is seeking candidates to fill the remaining one year and 10 months of Devoto’s current term. The five-member board is expected to appoint a candidate to fill the vacancy from among those who apply.

Interested applicants must be registered voters living within the boundaries of the school district.

Candidates can seek election to a full term in the November 2014 election.

Those interested in filling out an application packet should contact Karen Lamb, executive secretary, at 824-6412 or klamb.do@wscuhsd.k12.ca.us

Applications are due at 4 p.m. Feb. 8.
