Dentist Andrew McCormick is again sponsoring a contest that asks students to write a one-page essay on a “good deed” they have performed. The winner gets a free laptop, according to McCormick’s office.

Essays are due May 6. Participants must be 18 years or younger and must write a one-page essay about a good deed they performed and what came of it. Essays can be emailed to lovetourteeth@docmac.com or dropped off at 855 Fountaingrove Parkway in Santa Rosa.

The current contest marks the fifth time McCormick has sponsored the contest. A recent winner was Daniel Rosenthal, the Maria Carrillo High School student who created “Magic is Medicine” a program that bring magic performances into hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other places where people could use some cheer and wonder.
