Horicon School District’s Cheryl Gostisha has been named California Classified Employee of the Year for food service, state superintendent Tom Torlakson’s office announced today.
Gostisha has served in her current capacity for 16 years and according to district officials is a one-person food service program. She plans meals, orders and shops, according to information provided by the district. She is also server, dishwasher and cafeteria custodian for the school district’s approximately 60 students.
This year, Gostisha has improved the menus, creating more choices with fresh fruit, vegetables and more wheat flour.
