If you missed the story Friday, here is a reminder that Public Schools Week runs through Tuesday with hours of live performances from students today and tomorrow.

Eighteen school districts are hosting information tables and some are staging performances at Coddingtown mall.

The six-day event returned last year after a 20-year hiatus as a vehicle to promote curriculum and programs in Sonoma County’s public school districts.

Live performances will be also be staged today and will feature performances by, among others, Sheppard Elementary’s drama club and Wright School District’s mental math wizards.  Santa Rosa High School ArtQuest dancers and Mark West musicians will perform among other groups on Tuesday.

Introduced in Sonoma County in 1981, the event features individual student work and highlights educational programs. Before the event returned last year, the program last ran in 1992.

Participating districts include Santa Rosa City Schools, Healdsburg, Cotati-Rohnert Park, Bellevue, Roseland, Rincon Valley, Sonoma Valley, Wright and Piner-Olivet.
