Hidden Valley Elementary School sixth grader June Thomasson is Santa Rosa City Schools student of the month for May.

Thomasson is active in Hidden Valley’s Safe School Ambassador program, math Olympics, student council and she is a sign language ambassador.

Thomasson is credited for her creative spirit and her ability to get along with everyone. She is inclusive with her peers and is described as an “energetic, outgoing and friendly” girl by her teachers.

An avid reader, Thomasson is also a writer. She has penned a screenplay called “Fairy Tale News” and is currently working on a book called “Greenl’nd.” At Hidden Valley’s annual talent shows, Thomasson has been known to change lyrics to songs to include anecdotes about the principal and teachers.

Thomasson hopes to be a school teacher.
