Ridgway High School’s Cassidy Bell is Santa Rosa City Schools high school student of the month for May.

Bell works in the school’s snack bar, helps prepare meals and participates in “Tea and Talk” every Friday to critique books.

Bell also volunteered to be a camp counselor for a group of sixth grade girls at a week-long camp. She provided support, guidance and needed direction to the campers, according to school officials.

A gifted artist, Bell’s work can be seen around the Ridgway Avenue campus. She has created a self portrait of herself morphing into a wolf and a mural of a phoenix. Her work is being published in a juried book called “Celebrating Art” and she has had her work published on student art site “Artsonia.”

Bell plans to enlist in the Army and hopes to earn a college degree.
