cougar6Santa Rosa Middle School’s “Make Gardens Grow” class got richer by six apple trees this week after Steve Dutton from Dutton Ranch donated the trees and helped students plant them.

Principal Kathy Coker said the program has brought in a wide variety of volunteers and helpers who have all gotten their hands dirty in the fledging garden.

“Students have learned to appreciate the role agriculture plays in our lives and community,” Coker wrote to me in an email.

The Santa Rosa High School ag department has been a key partner, she said.
