Students enrolled in biotechnology at El Molino High School and their teacher Joan Vreeburg were invited to visit the Pathology Department at UCSF Medical School Jan. 16. This experience gave students hands-on instruction in how to prepare tissue samples for pathological analysis by the scientists who work in the lab. The Healdsburg School scores wins at debate tournament

Lani Frazer, a student at The Healdsburg School, took top prize for individual debate and was named top debater at the St. Vincent Invitational Junior High Speech and Debate Tournament last weekend. THSer Lindsay Buckel took second; Adrienne Saracy took third; Emma Tynan was fourth and Anna Sanderson came in sixth place. Slater Middle School students have chipped in for a classmate who was gravely injured by a drunken driver whose out of control truck crashed into a family waiting on a Yulupa Avenue bus stop earlier this month.
