I wrote about the rapidly dwindling number of summer school options for high schoolers in today’s Press Democrat but I just got off of the phone with Diane Traversi of Santa Rosa Junior College and have learned it is worse than I thought.
Traversi, director of admissions and enrollment services at the JC, said a five-year-old state law meant to curb cheats who were abusing the community college system has dramatically …

In more read between the lines news, Santa Rosa City Schools has an item on tonight’s agenda described as an annual fiscal analysis of competitive sports for board information and review.

There is an item on Wednesday’s Santa Rosa School Board agenda that is worth noting (among others).
As March 13’s deadline for reduction in force notices looms and as many school folks wonder about the future of their jobs, district officials are fine tuning how their seniority list is sorted.
On the surface, the item seems innocuous, but it is clearly an indication of …

Dobler’s son participated and the results were remarkable, she said.
“I still have fond memories of my son spending time with my father and learning about stories that I did not know about. This project allows our students to not only learn about …
