Deadline for ArtQuest 2014-15 is next Friday

Applications for spots in Santa Rosa High School’s ArtQuest program are due next week. For best chance of acceptance, program officials urge applicants to submit paperwork by Feb. 21. ArtQuest is an award-winning magnet program that offers courses eight disciplines: dance, digital arts, instrumental music, photography, theater arts, video arts, visual fine arts and vocal music. UPDATE: The college fair on Thursday will be open to SRHS students from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and to students from other campuses and the wider community between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. __________________________ Santa Rosa High School’s ArtQuest program will hold their annual Arts College Day on Thursday, Jan. 16. ArtQuest fall showcase on Oct. 10

The Santa Rosa High School ArtQuest program is hosting its 20th annual fall showcase on Oct. 10. The event is free and the public is invited. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium with welcoming presentations and the “ArtQuest Back to School Fashion Revue.” From 7:40 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. there will be specialty curricular presentations made at various locations on campus. Analy, SRHS win video production ‘Emmys’

A video production team Analy High School was given the equivalent of an Emmy award when it was awarded the “Pillar of Excellence” from the Northern California chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. A team from Santa Rosa High’s ArtQuest program earned an “Award of Excellence” in the same competition which included entrants from Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii. ArtQuest boosters hosting Mardi Gras ball

Friends of ArtQuest is hosting a Mardi Gras Ball fundraiser next month to support the program at Santa Rosa High School. Tickets include Cajun-styled dinner, wine, a silent and live auction, and music by Gatorbeat. The event is from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Friedman Event Center in Santa Rosa. Tickets are $65 a piece and can be purchased via www.artquestmardigrasball.com Friends of ArtQuest is a nonprofit parent and community organization.  

ArtQuest information night on Thursday

Santa Rosa High School will host an ArtQuest information night from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. The meeting will be held in the multipurpose room in the main building of the campus at 1235 Mendocino Ave. Leaders will go over the application process and a faculty/counselor panel will be on hand to answer questions. Santa Rosa’s Chuba wins ‘Beach Blanket Babylon’ scholarship

Santa Rosa High’s recently graduated Nick Chuba won a $10,000 scholarship from the “Beach Blanket Babylon Scholarship for the Arts,” according to school officials. Chuba, an ArtQuest student, won in the acting category. He and fellow Panther Kelsey Tarantino were two of the nine seniors from the Bay Area who were finalists in the competition. The pair performed June 4 at Club Fugazi in San Francisco.
