Brook Haven students conduct ‘Can!’ classes

College last weekend, as sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth graders staged “classes” where younger students could learn skills in sports, crafting and game playing. Kids Can! Sebastopol home to ‘Renaissance’ fundraiser this weekend

The Sebastopol Education Foundation is hosting their annual Renaissance Harvest Faire fundraiser this weekend. “Much Ado About Sebastopol” will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Ives Park on Willow Street. Last year’s fete pulled in about 4,000 people and organizers say more are expected this year. Changes afoot in Sebastopol School District

Sebastopol School District will undergo wholesale changes in the coming year with a new superintendent and new principals at both Park Side School and Brook Haven School. Liz Schott, who currently serves as both superintendent of the 650-student district and principal of K-8 Brook Haven School, has taken as superintendent of the Kentfield School District in Marin County. Free bike skills rodeo and swap April 27

Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition’s Safe Routes to School program is hosting a bike swap and skills rodeo in Sebastopol on April 27. The event is free and open to the public. Bikes for swapping must be brought to Brook Haven School, 7905 Valentine Ave., between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Bike swapping runs between 11 a.m. and noon. Brook Haven celebrates science fair winners

Brook Haven School in Sebastopol recently hosted its annual school science fair. At least one reader called in and said the projects were amazing this year. The winners will head to the Sonoma County Science Fair on Feb. 23. That event will be held at Sonoma State University.
