The Ranch’s Steffen named new principal at Tech High

Bob Steffen has been named principal at Cotati-Rohnert Park’s Technology High School on the Sonoma State University campus. The selection is expected to be ratified at the Cotati-Rohnert Park School Board’s Feb. 11 regular meeting. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. the Mountain Shadows Education Center, 7165 Burton Ave. in Rohnert Park. Steffen has been principal at Rancho Cotate High School for the past six years. LJMS’s Galeazzi named top middle school teacher

Good news from Lawrence Jones Middle School in Rohnert Park – English teacher Rae Galeazzi has been named the Region 1 California League of Middle Schools educator of the year. The honor means Galeazzi, a 31-year veteran, will be honored at the California League of Middle Schools annual conference in Sacramento in March. Pulley reflects on how robo-calls affected school board race

Incumbent Karyn Pulley will not serve a fourth term on the Cotati-Rohnert Park School Board after coming in a distant fourth in a race for two seats. Readers may remember Pulley as the target of at least two so-called robo-calls that urged voters not to vote for her, citing three votes Pulley allegedly made in her third term. Thomas Page Academy kicking off fundraiser push

Back to School means back to fundraising for parent and community groups. The folks at Thomas Page Academy in Cotati-Rohnert Park School District is kicking off the school year with a fundraiser golf tournament on Sept. 22 at Washoe Creek Golf Course. It’s the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year so parents are rallying behind the effort, according to PTA President Jennifer Vaca. Thomas Page’s Bickford named Twin Hills superintendent

Barbara Bickford has been named the new superintendent of the Twin Hills School District in Sebastopol. Bickford will take over July 1. Bickford is currently principal at Thomas Page School in the Cotati-Rohnert Park School District. In her 30 years as an educator she has served as a middle school teacher, school counselor, coordinator of English language services and special education case manager. District officials are pursuing a plan to potential re-open the campus on Liman Way in Rohnert Park. Cotati-Rohnert Park School District will hold a town hall meeting to take public input and answer questions related to its 1990 bond measure funds and spending.
