Book drive for low income, rural readers starts today

The second annual United Way Book Drive kicks off today. The drive runs through June 21. Last year the drive pulled in 5,000 books, according to Glen Weaver of the Sonoma County Free Bookmobile. This year the goal is to blow past that total and collect 8,000 books. United Way holding book drive for Bookmobile

The United Way of the Wine Country is hold in a book drive in support of the Sonoma County Free Bookmobile. The drive will run from June 7-21. The goal is to collect 1,000 children’s and young adult books. SSU, SRJC and Healdsburg High jazz bands at the Raven

Sonoma State University’s Contemporary Jazz Ensemble will perform at Homegrown Jazz on Nov. 13 at the Raven Theatre in a benefit for myhbg.tv. SSU’s group will be joined by jazz bands from Healdsburg High and Santa Rosa Junior College. Each group will perform a 40-minute set.
