Hillcrest Middle Schoolers claim both elem, Jr. High spelling bee titles

Hillcrest Middle School is the home of the winners of both the elementary and junior high school Sonoma County spelling bees held earlier this week. The county spelling bee includes fourth, fifth and sixth grade spellers in the elementary division and seventh, eighth and ninth graders in the junior high division. Hillcrest Middle in Sebastopol serves grades six, seven and eight. Hillcrest Middle nominated for national honor

Hillcrest Middle School is the only school north of San Francisco to be nominated for the 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools Program award. “Schools nominated for this significant recognition are performing at very high levels or are making impressive strides in student progress under challenging circumstances,” said state schools chief Tom Torlakson in a statement. Gravenstein holding K-8 open house, registration

Gravenstein School District will hold a registration and open house from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28. New and interested families in kindergarten and all grades are welcome, according to district officials. Hillcrest offers open house Monday

Hillcrest Middle School is hosting an open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 23. Campus tours will be offered and visitors will have an opportunity to meet teachers, according to organizers.
