More Walk and Roll to School photos here

Jefferson School mom Blythe Houg is the force behind that Cloverdale school’s push for more kids to walk and roll to school. Houg said the school doubled its number of participants in the annual event this year to 32 percent of the school’s 570 students. But the Jefferson community also hosts walk and roll to school events each month, to get families into the habit. Here are some photos.

Walk and Roll to School Day is fast approaching

International Walk and Roll to School Day is approaching. The big day for students (and their parents) to give riding or walking to school a try is Wednesday, Oct. 3. Looking for a new routine this school year and interested in giving bike riding to campus a go? There are resources out there to help you and your child on your way. The folks in Sebastopol win the prize for first submissions of their International Walk and Roll to School Day festivities.  These shots are of families in the Sebastopol school district who were joined by members of the Sebastopol Police as well as city council members when they gathered at the Sebastopol Veteran’s Hall on High Street before heading off to various campuses. Some schools canceled or postponed the event in anticipation of poor weather…but those rains never materialized.
