21 locals make National Merit semi-finals

This is a follow up to an earlier post highlighting Santa Rosa High’s National Merit Scholarship Program’s semi-finalist. UPDATED: State school boards assn. shows lawmakers the hand

Santa Rosa High announces student honors

Santa Rosa High School announced the names of seven Panthers who earned “Commended Student” status in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program: Thomas Carruthers Sara Gardner-Heart Patrick Herrmann Caitlin Kirkpatrick Katharine Konietzko David Tangney About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Student shuffle – a look at transfers

A report on transfers affecting Santa Rosa City Schools was submitted at tonight’s school board meeting. It generated no discussion, but here are some highlights: 104 elementary students attended a school other than their home school within the district last year. That is up from 37 students in 2007-08.
