Joint choral performance by SR City Schools a hit

[imagebrowser id=12] The choral programs from all five Santa Rosa City Schools high schools came together on one stage last Friday for the annual William Barclay Memorial Scholarship Concert. Typically held at Santa Rosa High, this concert was staged at Sonoma State University’s Weill Hall. SRCS district wide choral concert this Friday

Choirs from schools throughout Sonoma County’s largest school district will perform a group concert at Sonoma State University’s Weill Hall Friday. The William Barclay Memorial Scholarship Concert will feature more than 200 students from Santa Rosa City Schools high schools in a two-hour performance. SchoolsPlus ups its annual contribution to Santa Rosa schools

SchoolsPlus is at it again. The nonprofit that has been supporting athletics and arts in all Santa Rosa City Schools middle and high schools for more than two decades has upped their annual contribution to each campus, according to the group’s leaders. This year, all five comprehensive high schools will get $20,000 (up from $12,500 last year) and middle schools as well as Ridgway High will receive $10,000 (up from $6,250 last year). Digitale in Sebastopol for book signing

The Press Democrat’s own Robert Digitale has a new book out and will be at the Copperfield’s book store in Sebastopol tomorrow signing copies. This event is of particular note for local schools. For every edition of “Horse Stalker” sold through October, Digitale is donating $1 to local education foundations. SchoolsPlus’s big annual fundraisers is upon us. “A Night Under the Lights” is this Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Friedman Center in Santa Rosa. The second annual event is a major fundraiser for the 20-year-old group which pumps funds into arts, sports and theater in all Santa Rosa City Schools secondary campuses. Schools Plus is again hosting “A Night Under the Lights” to support sports, music and arts in Santa Rosa City Schools. The second annual event is scheduled for Sept. 24 at The Friedman Center.
