Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition’s Safe Routes to School program is hosting a bike swap and skills rodeo in Sebastopol on April 27. The event is free and open to the public. A good warm up might be had via a group ride Saturday. “Ride About Town” will begin from Santa Rosa City Hall at 9 a.m. sharp Saturday. Prestwood Elementary still walking, rolling

Prestwood School in Sonoma finished off the school year with not one walk and roll to school day but three. Are you a book lover? Get ready for Sept. 25 when the Sonoma County Book Festival takes over Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa for its 11th annual gathering. Bike safety courses for kids this month

There are two more bicycle safety rodeos being held this month at Sebastopol schools. On Wednesday, April 21, a bike rodeo will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Brook Haven Middle School. New bike racks for Prestwood Elementary

Prestwood Elementary School in Sonoma got two new bike racks installed on campus in part because of their massive turnout for last fall’s Walk and Roll to School Day. Credit goes to Marmot Mountain, whose employees won the regional Team Bike Challenge as part of last spring’s Bike to Work Day. Their prize? Two new bike racks. Lessons of a two-wheeled kind (and it’s free)

Another call to parents who want to give their kids the tools to be able to ride their bikes to school. The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition is offering another rounds of “Street Skills for Bike Riders” classes on Saturday.
