Twitchell named to fill West County School Board seat

The West Sonoma County School Board has named Amber Twitchell to the board seat that was made vacant with the retirement of Susan DeVoto. DeVoto announced her resignation earlier this year, effective Jan. 16. Twitchell, 33, of Guerneville will be sworn in on March 27. Unless someone files a petition with sufficient signatures, asking for a special election, Twitchell will keep the seat until December 2014, according to district officials. West County High School district seeking new board member

West Sonoma County Union High School District trustee Susan Devoto resigned from her post Jan. 16 effective immediately. She cited health concerns as her reason for stepping down. Devoto was first elected in November 2006. The district is seeking candidates to fill the remaining one year and 10 months of Devoto’s current term.
