Free whooping cough clinic Saturday

 The Sonoma County Department of Public Health will hold two free whooping cough vaccination clinics for middle and high school students beginning Saturday. Seventh through 12th graders are required to show proof of a pertussis, or whooping cough, vaccination within the first 30 days of the school year or be barred from attending class and school activities, according to a new law that went into affect July 1. Even with the 30-day grace period for having proof of a whooping cough vaccination to start school this fall, all seventh through 12th graders will eventually need them — and soon. Worried about cost of whooping cough shot

Getting the word out about the change in rules regarding whooping cough vaccinations for seventh through 12th graders beginning this school year isn’t the only problem facing schools and school districts, according to Geyserville Superintendent Joe Carnation.
