SRJC to host green jobs conference March 1

Santa Rosa Junior College will host a day-long conference entitled “How Green Jobs Can Rebuild California” on March 1 in the Bertolini Student Center on the Santa Rosa campus. Speakers include Rep. Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena, SRJC President Frank Chong, Sonoma County Supervisor Mike McGuire, as well as representatives from the California High Speed Rail Authority, Union Bank of Switzerland, Sonoma County Job Link, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART), PG&E, and the Sonoma County Water Agency. Local high school students nab water PSA prizes

Four Sonoma County high school students are being honored for their awarding winning public service videos extolling the virtues of drinking tap water rather than bottled water. Sponsored by the Sonoma County Water Agency, the annual contest invites high school students to create videos based on certain water-conscious themes.
