I am doing some interviews about El Molino High School’s being named a top 10 finisher in the state in the current (get ready for this) “Battle for Milkquarious, White Gold Milkdonkulous Giveaway” but might not get to it until next week. In the meantime, check this out.

Students from El Molino are competing against two teams from Los Angeles and others from Gardena, Madera, Marysville and San Jose and elsewhere in a competition that asks students to creatively re-make scenes from a California Milk Processor Board spoofy campaign.

The top prize? $20,000.

“That is quite a windfall,” said El Molino’s vice principal Barry Sovel. “There are some real bragging rights that go with that.”

The grand prize winner will be determined by a public online vote.

To see the 4-minute video directed by El Mo junior Ryan Santos-Phillips, click here and click on the box above the video that that says “vote” and select El Molino’s clip from among the choices: http://www.youtube.com/user/WhiteGoldISWhiteGold#p/c/0D27830ADC69FA32

Keen viewers will actually hear the phrase “milk-enhanced hotness” somewhere in the video.

Votes will be tallied until 10 a.m. Jan. 24. Fans can vote once a day per computer.

I am hoping to do more on this story next week. In the meantime, check out the video.
