Check out photos from the unveiling of “Tengo La Voz,” the mural created by ArtStart artists. Since the mural was finished in 2008, it has been traveling to different locations in Sonoma County.

On Wednesday, it was celebrated in its new home: Santa Rosa City Schools district office on Ridgeway Avenue.

“We were just looking for a home,” said ArtStart executive director Cathy Kaufman. “We are just happy that it’s going to be in a public space.”

Laura Hoffman and Mario Uribe were the lead artist on the project and worked with student apprentices: Eva Cabrera, Patricio Estupinan, Alexandria Greco, Chris Levesque, Serena Llamas, Fiorella Silva, and Ariana Vargas.

The piece was paid for by ArtStart grant money, Kaufman said.
