Readers may remember a story that ran back in December describing the selection of Rena Wang of Montgomery High School’s selection to the uber-competitve United States Senate Youth Program.

Well Wang heads out on Saturday with some good news. The lineup of folks the group is expected to meet and mingle with includes President Obama, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana.

The big name for Washington-vet Wang?

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

“She is a real inspiration to me,” Wang said. “As a  female minority myself, I really look up to her. (Meeting her) is definitely something I am very excited about.”

“She is feisty but at the same time she has a sense of justice.”

Wang, who is the student member of the Santa Rosa School Board, is slated to return to Santa Rosa on March 13.
