Piner’s Patty Michiels and Simone Spearman have been selected to read high school advanced placement exams this month.

Michiels will read Spanish exams and Spearman will read language and composition tests.

More than 1.5 million students take the College Board’s Advanced Placement courses each year. Each May, students have the option to take exams in those subjects. Qualifying scores earn college credits.

“The Reading draws upon the talents of some of the finest teachers and professors that the world has to offer,” Trevor Barker, vice president of the Advanced Placement Program at the College Board, said in a statement. “It fosters professionalism, allows for the exchange of ideas, and strengthens the commitment to students and to teaching. We are very grateful for the contributions of talented educators like Patty Michiels and Simone Spearman.”
