Santa Rosa Junior College will host a wine tasting on June 26 to allow the public to sample wines created within the school’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Department.

Students worked with winemaker Chris Wills to grow varietal grapes and make win. Graphic design students created the labels and promotional products.

Local businesses have donated bottles, label printing, bottling facilities, packaging and shipping support, according to school officials.

At the June 26 event, from 1 to 4 p.m. the public will be invited to sample 2009 sauvignon blanc, 2009 chardonnay and 2009 rose of syrah. Barrel samples of red wines not yet available for purchase will also be available at the event.

Wines can be purchased individually or in groups of three.

Shone Farm is located at 6225 Eastside Rd. in Forestville.
