Analy High’s Tim Forslund is heading to Japan.

The history and social studies teacher will spend 18 days in Japan in a program conducted by the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The 17-member group will travel to Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Nara, Kyoto, Yokohama and Tokyo to tour historical sites, visit with teachers, students and academic specialists and participate in daily briefings, according to organizers. The program runs from June 26 to July 14.

Forslund was selected based on his previous study of Japan and commitment enhancing instruction about Japan, according to organizers.

The program is funded by a grant from the Freeman Foundation with support from the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia at the University of Colorado.
