Analy’s Gordon Allen finished in the top 10 in the National Forensic League Tournament in Kansas City last week.

Allen was named seventh best debater in the nation after 13 rounds of competition – including winning rounds against some of the best high school debaters in the country, according to organizers.

Students qualified to compete in the nationals by advancing beyond their respective state tournaments in March. In all, 276 debaters competed in Allen’s category. More than 3,200 competed in the tournament as a whole.

This year’s topic was “Resolved: Compulsory inclusion of non-felons’ DNA in any government database is unjust.”
