Petaluma’s teachers union has backed Sheri Chlebowski and Jaimey Walking Bear for Petaluma City Schools trustee, according to Petaluma Federation of Teachers president Ted Russo.

Incumbents Christina Kauk, Carolyn Tennyson and Mike Baddeley are up for re-election on Nov. 2.

“The PFT has been very impressed with Sheri’s and Jaimey’s willingness to reach out to teachers, establish communication lines, and listen to our concerns.  Additionally, both of them have spent numerous hours researching what our District is about and how we function,” Russo said in a statement. “The PFT is excited to see what they can bring to the Petaluma City School District and we firmly believe that they will help our District continue to improve in all areas of performance.”
